Second feedback of my new Mac Book Pro

Some days ago my new Mac Book Pro 17” (i7) arrived, so now I can give you my feedback after some day-to-day usage.

First of all I’m really happy of this mac, it has ‘the good’ of the old (17” core 2 duo), it has some new ‘good’ but it has also some bads.

Some thinkings:

- I love the improved battery life (I really got a HUGE increase of battery life respect my old mac)

- I love the higher resolution. I’m a photographer in my free time and I play often with Aperture. The new resolution (1920x1200) is really great to see and manage photos. It’s also a quite bad thing for some situations. At work I have my mbp on a stand and near it a display 22” (1680x1050). In this situation I cannot use Terminal on 1920x1200 without increasing much the font size of the Terminal. It’s not a big issue .. but I want to advice you about that :)

In general use the high resolution is not a big issue, but sometimes you will use trackpad multitouch to increase font size beacause your eyes wants more size :)

- I love/hate the trackpad multitouch. I love it because in some situations it’s really confortable .. but I really hate it because often I zoom/rotate/do anything without want it! And it happens quite often (but I’m trying to get used to it .. I don’t want to disable this feature) :)

- Another thing is that all the ports are on the left side, I would prefer the configuration of my old mac (some on the left and some on the right) :)

In conclusion, it’s really a good computer, I really like it and I can suggest you to buy one! :)
